LANDCARE TO ACQUIRE PART OF WILTON SITE

Landcare’s empire is set to spread to the north east of England with the planned acquisition of a former chemical manufacturing area on the sprawling Wilton chemicals complex.

The manufacturing plant was closed in the 1960s, decontaminated and partially demolished the following decade. At this stage concrete was placed around the equipment to form a sarcophagus. This facility weighed heavily on the resources of the owning company, which turned to Landcare for a solution.

Landcare has extensive experience of providing solutions in this highly specialised area. Landcare will use its environmental and operational resources to effectively and efficiently manage the site and ensure that the liabilities in the future reside with Landcare.

A particularly innovative approach has been sought in conjunction with Bridge Insurance. The company has facilitated an insurance provision for both former and future landowners.
