"NPL Estates are working with North Ayrshire Council and a number of statutory bodies to regenerate the former ICI site at Ardeer. The site sits within the heart of the Irvine Bay regeneration plans promoted by North Ayrshire Council.

The plans for the site are at an early stage with a variety of options under consideration. Over the coming months NPL will be consulting widely. We propose seeking the views of local residents in order to provide a scheme with wide ranging benefits including employment opportunities, good quality housing, tourism opportunities, and environmental improvements. The plans will represent an exciting future for the site which has over recent years seen a decline in employment opportunities.

One of the exciting new schemes is for a golf resort. Whilst the plans are at an early stage, this £250 million investment into the local economy could be the kick start that the site and the whole of the community and Irvine Bay needs."
