PRESS RELEASE

Removal of Fly Tipping

NPL Estates, which undertakes significant community-based work in the Hillhouse Cleveleys area of Thornton, has removed the scourge of fly tipping from land on the southern boundary of Centenary Wood, off Bourne Road.
The local residents steering group, which was set up by NPL, raised concerns about the fly tipping and children playing near piles of asbestos.

As a gesture to the local community and Wyre Borough Council, NPL has undertaken a thorough inspection and instructed asbestos experts Wyre Waste to remove this health and safety contamination issue from the local area. This involves moving a considerable amount of fly tipping, including a large element of asbestos.

Councillor Tony Condron said: “It is good to see that NPL Estates, although under no obligation, has undertaken to remove a potential hazard and is cleaning up and tidying the area surrounding the local housing.”
