Winnington Urban Village

NPL’s strategic acquisition of the 27 acre site has enabled it to play a leading role in one of the largest and most innovative regeneration projects in the north of England. Together with combined development partners, Barratt, Taylor Woodrow and Morris Homes, NPL will deliver the urban village scheme comprising 1200 new homes, leisure and retail opportunities, remediation of former industrial land and a wide range of long-term infrastructure improvements for the local area.

The urban village will transform the former Brunner Mond Soda ash plant at Winnington, providing a unique riverside development with a complement of leisure, retail and restaurant facilities. Building works are due to commence in early 2007.

The scheme provides the cornerstone to the innovative ‘Northwich Vision’ regeneration proposals which, over the next 10 years, will see a complete transformation of Northwich town centre into a thriving living and working environment, remodelling the town and providing a new iconic river crossing. NPL is at the forefront of the vision proposals, working in partnership with Vale Royal Borough Council and lead developers Wilson Bowden, providing strategic land assets to ensure delivery of this ambitious scheme.
